With college just around the corner, or for some already 4 days in, we all need something to help boost us along sometimes. This is especially true when it comes to studying. Some of us are great at it and some of us (cough, me cough cough) it helps to have a little something that can help. No, before you get too off

track I’m not talking about drugs. What I’ll provide is some wholesome foods that can not only help boost studying, but help your health overall because we all know cramming 40 cups of coffee the night before a test will certainly keep you awake enough it might not be the best option on the table. And with that let’s look at a few items we have available.
1. Mixed Nuts
This is one of my favorite items because it requires no effort except for buying the canister and stuffing the food into your mouth. However, as the link says this doesn’t include trail mixes because those are packed with tons of extra sugar and stuff you don’t need. The nuts are usually pretty full of some good protein to keep you going and satisfied unlike some healthy vegan-non-dairy-animal-cruelty-free-sugar-free-gluten-free piece of what I assume was cardboard. Plus if you buy a plain bag of mixed nuts you have your own choice on flavoring it up with maybe some cinnamon or chili powder, whatever works. The link above has some other great ideas, but mixed nuts was my favorite.
2. Popcorn
Ah, bet you didn’t expect this one to pop up did you? Well surprise! Popcorn actually isn’t all that bad for you so long as it isn’t

So long as it’s not over-buttered or salted the volume and fiber (as stated in the link) are great to help keep you filled and focused. As with most things, this one is about portion control so look for the individual sized ones and if you’re hunkering down for a late night cram session you can get one of those bags that’s also bowl. You don’t have to get the unflavored versions either, just be mindful. Too much sugar
and salt will start making you sleepy.3. Dry CerealFor you weird kids (cough me cough cough) who actually kind of like cereal without milk can finally stick in the smug milk drinker’s faces! Well, not really because cereal isn’t exponentially greater for you without milk, but it does last longer. You want to look for more whole grain cereals like Cheerios or Kashi. Something that will provide enough fuel to keep you satisfied and going without the milk means you can focus on the words not a spoon. So, I guess my Frosted Flakes doesn’t really count in this list, but whatever I’m counting it as a win.
